Cabaret Stage Door Experience

The Kit Kat Club at the August Wilson Theater

The stage door for the August Wilson is located next to the box office on the left, right next to where you entered the theater. With the way the theater is set up, even from the orchestra level, it’s a mad dash down a few staircases before you’re outside. The barricades are set up facing the street instead of the typical way where we face the theater. Not having your back open toward the street makes you feel pretty corralled in. Add to that the fact that the set up means less people can fit into the more defined section and overall it’s a pretty tight space.

As for the actual stage dooring part of it all – it was pretty good. Only Adam Lambert and Auli’i Cravalho came out to sign, no other cast member came out. Which is – of course – perfectly fine as it’s entirely up to them. I’m not sure if this was just for my show or if for every show it’s just Sarah and the Emcee. Both Adam and Auli’i were very nice, I was able to have a short but good conversation with Auli’i.

Another great stage door experience.
